1) What's the article about? Summarize it. 2) How does the story connect to our journalism class and journalism as a profession in general? 3) What questions does the story leave you with after reading it? List at least two.

1. lifting the ban on photo's of caskets or other means of death after wartime.
2. It relates to Journalism because the world needs to see the true effect and the visual side of whats really happening during wartime. not to say it shouldnt be kept under complete control of the dearly loved one's parents or guardians to decide whether or not they should be documented and photographed.
3. Why was the ban placed there in the first place? why couldnt the system work it out before?

  1. I always wondered why the ban was placed also. It never made sence to me why the photos were such a big deal. I think it got out of controll for a while and they felt the best way to deal with it was just to get rid of everything for good.

  2. Your question at the end is an excellent one, and one that could very well lead to some political interpretations! Some would argue that it is not surprising that with the transition in leadership (Bush to Obama), this ban was lifted almost instantly. Herein may lie the answer. Try to be more elaborate in your respnoses, and be sure you are responding to the blogs of other staff members.
